A Typical Day at RCS

We provide a wide range of activities to enable the children to learn through play (some that are adult led, but most activities are able to be freely accessed by the children). The daily routine for each group is similar but takes into account differing stages of development and children’s individual interests. Activities for children are planned following the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage and children are closely involved in the planning process.

A typical session will include opportunities for free play and also planned activities, both inside and in our garden areas. Activities are planned around the children’s individual needs and interests and will include creative play and physical activities.

We organise visits to the nursery by professionals, including police officers, fire fighters and dentists. We also go on outings to visit and explore the local community to broaden children’s experiences.

Breakfast is provided for children when they attend our Breakfast Club session between 8.00am and 8.30am.
